Holistic Nutrition Consulting

  • While working with a nutrition consultant isn’t for everybody, many people benefit greatly from this service. Your NC brings to the table not only their education and training, but also provides motivation and support. You may benefit if you struggle with consistency, getting back on track, keeping a positive outlook or just need a cheerleader to celebrate the little victories along the way. Or you may just need someone else to do all the heavy lifting of sifting through the confusing mountains of information out there, saving you oodles of time. Your NC can also write up weekly meal plans tailored to your preferences and health needs, complete with shopping lists to streamline your life.

  • Each person has specific needs, so there is no one-size-fits-all with nutrition consulting. The basic, bare-bones structure is a time-constrained series of sessions, the first one being the longest (60 minutes) and the subsequent follow-up sessions being shorter (30 minutes). Drawing from your completed forms and the initial consult, your NC will develop a plan with you to best achieve your health goals. Some plans will require longer time (1 year or longer) to reasonably get results and make the changes necessary, while others may be shorter. Most clients will find benefit between 3 months and 1 year. Goals also can change and new plans be made. Your NC will work with you as short as feasible to achieve the changes you’d like or as long as you feel you need and want the support. Your NC will also provide texting support, recipes, lifestyle recommendations, relevant educational resources, musculoskeletal self-care tips, and more. Some individual packages will include additional services such as Complete Meal Plans, Personal Pantry Makeover, Grocery Store Tour, and/or monthly massage therapy.

  • Your first session is a conversation via Zoom to get a comprehensive look at your health and lifestyle history, current status and goals. This is when your consultant will craft your personal plan to target your needs and give you a quote for that program. Please complete all the necessary forms and questionnaires prior to this appointment.

  • The bittersweet of this is no. While this may present financial challenges, the benefit of being outside of insurance coverage is that your NC is free to apply all her expertise to craft the best individual plan for you without the restrictions of a 3rd party. Your NC aims to uncover and target the fundamental issues, which translates to higher quality programs with longer lasting results, without having to jump through bureaucratic hoops for approval. Your Fortified Roots NC aims to provide you with tools, resources and skills to empower and equip you to take charge of your health on this front. If finances are a significant hinderance to much-needed support, feel free to discuss alternative payment options with your nutrition consultant.

  • Yes! Fortified Roots is more than happy to collaborate with your health care provider. There are certain circumstances where your NC will request medical documents (such as blood panels) in order to provide you the best support possible.

  • Your health and wellness are more than your nutrition. Many people seek nutritional support to improve various health outcomes, but sometimes those outcomes cannot be achieved by adjusting nutrition alone. Your holistic nutrition consultant will also include lifestyle factors such as sleep, exercise, and stress in her assessment of your overall health and goals. These factors also interplay with nutritional needs, food cravings, and more, and as such are important to address to reach health goals and find balance and healing.

  • Pretty much all of them. If your body is like a house, think of the Three Little Pigs: the quality of the material matters. If your body has the proper materials it needs and doesn’t have interfering materials, it’ll function better all around. The list of health concerns includes but is not limited to:
weight loss, mental health issues, mood disorders, chronic stress, pregnancy and post-partum, child development, sleep disturbances, athletic performance, hormone balance, immune function, metabolic disorders, aging, menopause and andropause, digestive concerns (IBS, IBD), autoimmune disorders, chronic inflammation, cancer, allergies, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, thyroid disorders, chronic fatiguereproductive issues …
